Engram’s local-first boundary and customer security duties.
Local-first design
Engram is designed to store memory locally and not phone home to LPJ. LPJ receives diagnostic material only when a customer deliberately shares it for support.
Third-party providers
A connected AI client or model provider may receive retrieved context under its own terms. Engram cannot make a cloud model local or override that provider’s retention practices.
After handover
Customers manage device security, access controls, encryption, backups, updates, MCP permissions and what may be remembered. Avoid secrets or special-category personal data without an appropriate assessment and safeguards.
